Menopause brings many changes, and with it, NUMEROUS health questions:

  • What do I eat for menopause?

  • What about my weight?

  • What’s the best diet for me?

  • Does coffee cause hot flashes?

  • Is Intermittent Fasting good for hormone balance?

  • Why am I so anxious?

  • Why is my hair falling out?

  • And more … right?

Aging can come with health issues and concerns. I think most of us are concerned about chronic health issues like diabetes, arthritis, and brain diseases, as we head into our fifties.

Aging also comes with body dissatisfaction.
Whether it is with weight and body changes or health conditions, we search the questions above because we want to change something.

It feels like our bodies have a different change in mind.

Yet, we want to have health goals. We WANT to be healthy.
And certain times of the year can motivate us to try to change our habits.

We generally turn to diets to reach a health goal.

Goals like:

  • decrease my anxiety

  • get rid of my hot flashes

  • lower my high blood sugar

  • lessen my brain fog

  • AND GET RID OF my menopausal weight gain.

AKA: The Meno Pot.

These are not the only concerns we try to fix with food in menopause. They are just some of the most common ones.

We turn to diet culture because we are dissatisfied with the way we look, as well.

I get why you are searching for a diet to get rid of your symptoms.

I GET why you are dissatisfied with your aging body.

Coming to terms with your aging is hard stuff,
mentally and physically.

Turning to an internet search for “best diets in menopause gets confusing.

I’ve found everything from the bone broth diet , to keto. to intermittent fasting.

Chances are one of your friends is doing ONE of these things.
Or should I say going on or OFF one of these things.

‘Cause that’s how diets go.

On again off again, like a strained relationship

Dieting IS like a strained relationship for many of us.

We are looking for something in this relationship.
We want to feel good about ourselves.
So we try certain diets, without even knowing our own personal health desires.

Here’s your one tip (or thought really) for the day.

Have you ever thought about what
health FEELS like to you?

Serious shiitake mushrooms here, think about how you want to FEEL when you create a health vision for yourself.

Do you want to feel Purposeful?
Energetic?
Vital?
Youthful?
Optimistic?
Valued?
Assertive?

Society has us focus on outside markers as an indicator of “ a success life”, be it fancy cars or weight loss.

And these may be what you DO see as a successful life.

That’s cool. YOU DO YOU:)

ANYONE can define how they want to feel in life and map out a personal path to get there.

And the personal path doesn’t have to involve spending oodles of money on dieting programs and shakes.

It can involve a half an hour of thinking differently about your health desires and how you want to FEEL in midlife.

I created a podcast episode called Realistic, Meaningful, and Purposeful Health Goals in Menopause to help you tap into what you value in health and life.

It involves a little emotional work:)

Health IS emotional.

This podcast episode will help you figure out your emotional goals for you health

The way you FEEL and the way you WANT to feel will drive your experience in the coaching process.

Your health goals will not look like mine. I think that’s beautiful thing.

I hope you find what you need on your journey.
